Description
We owned a BMW Z8 which this phone came with. I just found it in a closet (we sold the car a few years ago). It is a Motorola StarTAC digital phone marketed as the CPT 7000.It works, but the battery seems like it doesn't. The charger cord's outer rubber covering is coming off exposing the blue cording underneath.
Also included is the plastic mounting case for the car and a sealed instruction manual.
From BMW:
The BMW CPT 7000, which is based on the Motorola StarTAC digital phone, will be
standard equipment in all 2001 model 7 Series. The CPT 7000 is fully integrated
with the 7 Series' electronic systems, offering drivers several advanced
features, including:
* Multi-function dashboard and steering wheel control. Drivers can make calls
by pressing buttons on the in-dash display and/or the steering wheel.
* Memory synchronicity, which allows phone book and other data to automatically
upload from the phone into the vehicle's audio system display.
* Integration with radio that helps to reduce distraction by automatically
muting the radio and pausing the CD or cassette player when a call is sent or
received.
